EE 522 Advanced Communication Systems II

Spring 1998 - First Exam Study Guide:

Revison: #2

Topics:

The test will cover chapters 1 to 5. Emphasis will be given to the topics covered in the lecture. The exam will be open book and open notes. Be prepared to do essay questions and draw block diagrams of receivers with specific signal processing functions.

Here is a list of topics that will be used to prepare the exam questions:

Chapter 1.

We did not cover Chapter 1 because this is material that is covered in previous communication courses. You need to bring a text to the exam that covers basic communication systems so you will have a background reference if you need it.

Introduction (From lectures)

  • Model of a Spread-Spectrum Communication System
  • Transmitter-Channel-Receiver
